It is worth to attend the “Getting Started in the U.S.” information session of Harvard International Office.

Although most of the topics (e.g., banking, telephone, housing, transportation…) have been settled by me already, I got some important information from this session.
For instance, my visa status is eligible for having a social security number (SSN) without a letter of employment.
And interestingly, TAIWAN is the most frequent country which be used as example by the speaker (e.g., in the photo of visa document).
More importantly, I meet a lady from Taiwan who came here just few days ago and will stay in Harvard for half year.
She misses her children in Taiwan just like I miss all of you.
We exchanged the contact information. It is lucky to meet Taiwanese in Harvard.

真不枉費我今天早上特地到哈佛國際中心聽這場"如何開始在美國生活"的說明會,
包括我有10位參加,從短短的自我介紹開始,挺輕鬆愉快的兩個小時。
很妙的是,這位老師用的圖片例子中"台灣"被用很多次,不知道是跟她到過台灣有關(她的自我介紹中提到她到過台灣),還是他們的經驗中臺灣人不少有關。
說到台灣人,我好高興在這個說明會遇到一位台灣人小姐(我不知道要叫姊姊還是妹妹),
她在說明會結束後來找我,我們交換了聯絡方式。
她提到兩個小孩和老公在台灣,我有同病相憐的感覺,呵呵呵....
